About Us

History of a Glassmaster

Born in Favaro Veneto on the 28th September 1944
  • Begins working in a chandelier and favour factory.
  • Works with the great master ALFREDO BARBINI

    and others such as LIVIO SEGUSO, ERMANNO NASON and ANGELO SEGUSO.

  • Becomes a glass master.
  • Works in factory and acquires a complete understanding and full technical knowledge of glasswork techniques.
  • Opens his studio in Murano.
  • Collaborates with artists and architects

    amongst which are DALÌ, VEDOVA, LICATA, KRUFT, DAL PEZZO, VITALI, POMODORO, WILLSON.

  • Upon invitation, he goes to Aumori in Japan

    for the first time, he takes the first of a long series of trips in Japan.

  • His second visit to Japan

    He makes a demonstration in the presence of the Imperial Family. Permanently displays sculptures, at the Museum of Venetian Art, Otaru - Japan. Produces some sculptures for DALE CHIHULY Seattle - U.S.A. Teaches at the Pilchuck School of Glass Seattle - U.S.A.

  • Creates the glass trophies for the European Basketball Championships

    Paris, France and for the N.B.A. - U.S.A. Teaches at Tulane University - U.S.A. Teaches at Aomori Otaru - Japan. Teaches at the Toyama School of Glass - U.S.A. Teaches at the Pilchuck School of Glass Seattle - U.S.A.

  • Creates the first series of sculptures for JEFF KOONS

    displayed at the Sonnabend Gallery New York - U.S.A. Teaches at the Rochester Institute of Technology, Massachusetts College of Art- U.S.A. Visits and presents a demonstration at the G.A.S. Conference in Corning New York - U.S.A. Teaches at the Pilchuck School of Glass Seattle - U.S.A.

  • Creates a series of sculptures with JAN VERCRUYSSE

    displayed at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Rivoli - Torino. Creates some pieces with ELIZABETH MURRAY, KIKI SMITH, RAIMUND KUMMER. Teaches at the Pilchuck School of Glass Seattle - U.S.A.

  • Designs and creates a series of 12 large fountains for Hotel American Gei Ken - Japan.

  • Participates at the G.A.S. Conference Oakland

  • Exhibits at the Christy Taylor Galleries Florida - U.S.A.

    Exhibits at the Galleria San Nicolò - Venice. Participates in the exhibition organised by the Venice Chamber of Commerce, "L'Art du verre a Murano au XXeme siecle Parigi" Passage de Retz - France. Participates in the exhibition "Maestri vetrai creatori di Murano del '900 Comacchio" - Ferrara. Participates in the exhibition in favour of the United Foundation for AIDS Godparent House Florida - U.S.A. Participates in the creation of a glasshouse, at the Pilchuck School of Glass during his teaching stage.

  • Designs and creates some glass door-handles, exhibited at the Pull of Beauty - Storefront for Art and Architecture New York - U.S.A

    Works with MARTIN BRADLEY on the glass chessboard project. Creates for MARIA GRAZIA ROSIN the series of sculptures "the garden of the body" - Kunstmuseum Düsseldorf im Ehrenhof - Germany.

  • Continues the collaboration with MARC QUINN.

    Collaborates with MARTIN BRADLEY. Creates a series of fish and marine animals in glass, with DALE CHIHULY. Creates some sculptures for TIMO SARPANEVA. Continues the collaboration with the Portia Gallery Chicago - U.S.A., which shows some pieces at the international exhibition Sofa-Miami 1997. Pino creates a glass Pantheon made from eight two meters high columns and a central fountain. Exhibits two sculptures at the Bellevue art Museum Seattle - U.S.A. Teaches at the Pilchuck School of Glass Seattle - U.S.A.

  • Participates in a series of conferences at the California College of Arts and Crafts, Oakland - U.S.A.

    Participates at the Translucent and opaque: Contemporary glass - Port of Seattle 1998 glass exhibition, Seattle - U.S.A. Creates a statue depicting Mickey Mouse for Walt Disney, Italy (height cm160). Continues the collaboration with DALE CHIHULY and TIMO SARPANEVA.

  • Creates an enormous life sized horse for the Biennale 1999 Venice Film Festival - Venice.

    Participates at the G.A.S. Conference 1999 Tampa - U.S.A. Creates a life sized accordion in glass. Teaches at Jacksonville University - U.S.A. Continues collaborations with the artists: CHIHULY, KRUFT, KUMMER VERCRUYSSE, SARPANEVA.

  • Participates at the Glass Sanctuary A Master and his apprentice - Carlsbad California U.S.A.

    Il Legno in Vetro (Wood in glass) with the collaboration of LIVIO DE MARCHI - Venice. Teaches at the Penland School of Crafts, Penland North Carolina - U.S.A. Completes the sculpture "OHM" for the Hindu Temple, Cincinnati - U.S.A. Creates a house completely in glass located amongst the woods of the Swiss Alps. Exhibits some sculptures at the exhibition Dalì & Murano Artists at the San Marco Museum - Venice. Continues the collaboration with the Portia Gallery Chicago - U.S.A. and with the artists CHIHULY, KUMMER and VERCRUYSSE.

  • Pino teaches at the Venice "Accademia delle Belle Arti".

    Creates 700 snowballs exhibited at the De Pury & Luxembourg Gallery, Zürich - Switzerland. Teaches at the Esashi Glass Work Shop - Japan. Teaches at the San Servolo International Glass Workshops on l'isola di S. Servolo Venice - Italy. Pino opens his new workshop in F.ta Serenella 3 Murano Venice - Italy. Creates some sculptures, for the furnishings industry OAK di Cantù - Italy, destined for a Saudi Palace. Continues collaborations with CHIHULY AND KUMMER.

  • two sculptures at the Habitat Gallery - U.S.A. Teaches for the second consecutive year at the Venice "Accademia delle Belle Arti".

    Participates at the Amsterdam GAS Conference - Netherlands. Teaches at the Esashi San Servolo International Glass Workshops - Japan. Receives the award "Gallo d'oro di Murano" as Muranese personality of the year.

  • Creates a clothes rack, inclusive of several items of clothing made entirely out of glass, displayed at the Housang Rachtian Gallery in Venice.

    Makes a pig out of glass and gold leaf, as the fourth place award at the 2003 Regata Storica di Venezia. Participates as a lecturer at the GAS Conference - Seattle U.S.A. Creates a series of chandeliers based on marine life, shown at the Caffè Florian in Venice, in collaboration with MARIA GRAZIA ROSIN. Creates a series of 100 "fantastic" shoes for the Japanese designer HIROKO UEKI, that were the subject of an exhibition tour throughout Japan. Continues to be the primary glass master and maker for the ideas of many artists including: DALE CHIHULY, ALDO MONDINO, SANDRO CHIA, INGE MANZÙ, ANNE AND PATRICK POIRIER, RAIMUND KUMMER, MARC QUINN, MANOLO VALDÉS, JAN VERCRUYSSE. Teaches at the San Servolo International Glass Workshops on the island of San Servolo Venice, Italy. Creates two Lions of San Marco in glass and gold leaf, to be awarded to the ballerina Carla Fracci and the architect Renzo Piano for the prize "Una vita per la musica 2003". Creates a glass phoenix to be given to the President of the Republic, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, for the opening of the new Gran Teatro La Fenice.

  • Participates as the supervising Maestro and maker in the 'Le Ali di Venezia' project

    which consisted in two 15-meter metal and glass wings to be positioned on the water in front of the ancient customs house of the Serenissima. He is contacted to be the consultant and creator of a future bridge to be made completely out of glass in Japan. Creates two glass eyes 3 meters long for artist RAIMUND KUMMER. Makes a glass Madonna for the inauguration of the ecological Park of San Giuliano - Venice. Creates the glass prizes for the "Gran Galà del Ciclismo", awarded to the cyclist Damiano Cunego, winner of the Giro d'Italia 2004. He continues to supply the Lions of San Marco in glass and gold leaf for the award "Una vita per la musica" Makes a solid glass figure of Christ approximately 170 cm tall, installed in the Duomo di Montevarchi - Italy. Makes a series of glass sculptures for American artist RICHARD LEE BIRT. Makes a series of glass sculptures shown at the Glass Museum of the Nagoya Port Italian Village, Nagoya - Japan. He is invited as a special guest to the Corning Museum of Glass, in Corning NY, and creates glass sculptures in front of an audience of approximately 5,000 people. He continues his collaboration with the following artists: ALDO MONDINO, ANNE AND PATRICK POIRIER, SANDRO CHIA, JAN VERCRUYSSE, MARC QUINN, HIROKO UEKI, DALE CHIHULY.

  • Makes 25 pigeons in glass for the Dutch artist MARIA ROOSEN shown at the National Library of Brussels - Belgium

    Beside various sculptures he creates a series of Clowns of 150 cm hight Continues his collaboration with various artists as DALE CHIHULY, JAN VERCRUYSSE, HIROKO UEKI, KIMIKO YOSHIDA, RICHARD BIRT, MARC QUINN. Makes a series of glass sculptures in collaboration with MAURO BONAVENTURA shown at the gallery "VETRO & ARTE" from May 28 to June 12 - Venice

  • Continues his collaboration with Dale Chihuly

    and he participates, as special guest, at the show “Chihuly on Tacoma” at Tacoma Museum of Glass – Tacoma – USA. He creates several new sculptures for the collection “Chihuly Sealife and Putti”. Creates for the french artist ADEL ABDESSEMED a human skeleton in glass. It was composed of 180 single bones and it has been shown at the Galerie Kamel Mennour Paris – France. Creates a series of large sculptures (5 feet high) using glass and some broken poles that he found in the venetian lagoon. Besides various sculptures he creates a series of clowns of 6 feet tall. Continues his collaboration with various artists as DALE CHIHULY, JAN VERCRUYSSE, HIROKO UEKI, KIMIKO YOSHIDA, RICHARD BIRT, MARC QUINN.

  • Creates for the artist Raimund Kummer two large eyes in crystal glass shown at the Galerie DKM – Duisburg Germany

    Continues his collaboration with the Galerie Kamel Mennour and the artist ADEL ABDESSEMED. He creates two more glass skeletons. One of the skeletons has been donated to the Centre Pompidour – National Museum of Modern Art of Paris. Creates for the italian Fashion house Golden Goose Deluxe Brand a series of dresses and bags in glass shown during the Milan fashion week at the Pitti Immagine – Touch Neozone Cloudnine – Milan. Continues his collaboration with various artists as DALE CHIHULY, JAN VERCRUYSSE, HIROKO UEKI, KIMIKO YOSHIDA, RICHARD BIRT, MARC QUINN and LUIGI VOLTOLINA.

  • Creates for the designer Alessandro Mendini and VENINI

    a series of blown horses 1 feet tall and another 4 feet tall shown at the Venini shop in Milan. Creates for a Korean costumer a sphere in solid glass with a diameter of 3 feet shown at the Jeju Glass Castle, the Korean National Glass Museum. He also attend to the opening as best living glass master. Teaches at the Pilchuck Glass School – Stanwood WA, U.S.A. Teaches at the Eugene Glass School – Eugene OR, U.S.A. Partecipate to the creation of the book “L’effimero e la vanità si aprono nel capolavoro di Pino Signoretto” by Stefano De Grandis, edizioni Granviale – Venezia. Partecipate to the creation of the book “Foto di vetro. Dalle mani del Maestro Vetraio Pino Signoretto” by Stefano De Grandis, edizioni Granviale – Venezia. Continues his collaboration with various artists as ALDO MONDINO, ANNE E PATRICK POIRIER, SANDRO CHIA, JAN VERCRUYSSE, MARC QUINN, HIROKO UEKI, DALE CHIHULY, RAIMUND KUMMER, KOEN VANMECHELEN.

  • Creates for the co. Sappi Fine Paper – Belgium, some glass award for the annual Award “Coryphaena”.

    Glass show during the exhibition Vitrium 2009 – Milan. Creates for the gallery Studio G7 and the artists ANNE E PATRICK POIRIER a glass stairway exibithed during the fair Artefiera – Bologna. Creates for the Sarpaneva Museum in Helsinki a new edition of the TIMO SARPANEVA glass scultpures. For the FeniceDay 2009, he creates for the company Superjet International a special glass sculpture dedicated to the famous soprano Katia Ricciarelli. Creates for the artist SHEN YUAN and the Galerie Kamel Mennour (Paris) a 6 meter glass thermometer. Creates a new glass collection for the artist HARRI KOSKINEN and the Forsblom Gallery (Helsinki). Continues his collaborations with various artist as ADEL ABDESSEMED, DALE CHIHULY, RAIMUN KUMMER, KOEN VANMECHELEN, HIROKO UEKI.

  • Creates for the artist ADEL ABDESSEMED the glass sculpture “Moscow”

    a collection of glass ice skates shown by the artist in several famous galleries as David Zwirner Gallery (NY) and Dvir Gallery (Tel Aviv). Creates for the Venice Casino a glass lion given as a present to the famous Actor SYLVESTER STALLONE. Creates some glass components for a typical Gondola. This Gondola has ride in the venetian Canal Grande during the Venetian Carnival party. Creates for the co. Sappi Fine Paper – Belgium, some glass award for the annual Award “Coryphaena”. Continues his collaboration with famous artists as DALE CHIHULY, RAIMUND KUMMER, KOEN VANMECHELEN, HIROKO UEKI.

  • Creates a glass sculpture for the artist OLEG KULIK

    and the Company Berengo fine art shown during the exhibithion Glasstress – Murano. Continues his collaborations with the artist ADEL ABDESSEMED. He creates the sculpture “Fatalité”, a collection of glass microphones shown by the artist in several famous galleries as David Zwirner Gallery (NY) and Dvir Gallery (Tel Aviv). Partecipates to the exhibithion “Glazed” at Powerhouse Arena – Brooklyn (NY). Creates the awards “Premio Italia” for the Italian Bocce Federation. Creates for the co.   • Creates a big chandelier for the Uniworld Luxury Cruises. The chandelier has been installed on the ship S.S. Catherine.

    Creates for the co. Piaggio Italia a glass reproduction for the launch of the new “Vespa 946 Bellissima”. Creates for the japanese designer KAORI SHIINA a glass collection show at the exhibition “J+I” during the Oriental Design Week in Milan. Teaches at Pilchuck School of Glass Seattle - U.S.A.
